“I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. IMG_5780Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word.”
[Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213]

Baptism is God’s most beautiful and magnificent gift…. We call it gift, grace, anointing, enlightenment, garment of immortality, bath of rebirth, seal, and most precious gift.

+ The Sacrament of Baptism is usually celebrated on Sunday afternoons following the 12:00 noon Mass in our parish church. Both parents are required to attend a Baptism Seminar, which introduces the sacrament of baptism, and another meeting with a priest for baptism preparation. Please call Lu Doyle at 914-720-4859 or the rectory at 834-1220 to make an appointment.
